Shares, Inc. works with Central Indiana companies to help place employees in the workforce. Our special team works with companies and individuals to assure a successful job placement.

Support Services Include:

Vocational training, counseling, recreation and transportation opportunities are just a part of the offerings available to Shares, Inc. consumers. With guidance, consumers strive to surpass their disabilities on the way towards becoming less dependent on others. Consumers are individuals who use Shares, Inc. facilities and support services.

Creating Learning Environments

Consumers needs vary, so assistance is offered full-time or part-time to those who need individual or group attention.

Learning opportunities are offered in classroom, apartment and industrial settings at each of our facilities as well as in various community locations.

Locations for learning opportunities include:

  • Shopping Malls
  • Movies / Theaters
  • Public Health Nurse's Office
  • Police and Fire Departments
  • Cooperative Extension Service
  • Educational Trips
  • Tours of Industries and Businesses
  • Visits to Historical Places

Developing Self-Advocacy and Community Connections

Shares, Inc. supports and empowers people with disabilities as they understand and exercise their civil rights and enhance their communities' knowledge of disability issues.

Self-advocacy is encouraged through:

Transportation

Shares, Inc. staff assists in coordinating and arranging transportation to meet employment requirements and community services. Limited transportation is available through our fleet of buses and vans to meet individual needs for transportation service.

Educational Trips

Shares, Inc. believes that our consumers should be introduced to a variety of learning experiences. One of these is our annual educational trip. For over 25 years we have been organizing educational trips across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
